The Sales and Marketing Analyst transforms complex data into clear, actionable insights that drive GSC’s sales growth, profitability, and operational efficiency. This role supports strategic planning through actionable analysis of internal and external data related to customer performance, product categories, vendor programs, inventory optimization, rebates, allowances, and pricing. The Analyst collaborates closely with Sales, Purchasing, and Business Applications to influence decisions across multiple functions and deliver measurable impact. This position is located at the GSC Sulphur Springs Support Center.

Position Summary
The Sales and Marketing Analyst transforms complex data into clear, actionable insights that drive GSC’s sales growth, profitability, and operational efficiency. This role supports strategic planning through actionable analysis of internal and external data related to customer performance, product categories, vendor programs, inventory optimization, rebates, allowances, and pricing. The Analyst collaborates closely with Sales, Purchasing, and Business Applications to influence decisions across multiple functions and deliver measurable impact. This position is located at the GSC Sulphur Springs Support Center.
Essential Responsibilities
- Conducts a broad range of strategic business planning, including product evaluation, customer performance metrics, vendor performance, and gap analysis planning.
- Strategically leverage analytical insights and data to further growth of customer sales and identify category and merchandising opportunities.
- Analyze and present post-promotion data, quantifying impact on sales and gross margin.
- Assist in maintaining GSC customer cost plan programs and cost plan maintenance
- Collaborate with Credit on customer setup in GSCIS
- Prepare price quotes for customers
- Develop and distribute reports to bring enhanced insight and visibility to customer and vendor performance.
- Provide ad hoc reporting for Sales and Purchasing.
- Provide back-up support for GSC’s Cost Analyst.
- Collaborate with the Business Applications Manager to support Salesforce functionality and improvements.
- Partner with Plan-O-Gram Manager to ensure product assortment and customer sales are aligned with vendor programming and inventory optimization.
- Maintain and assist with vendor allowance and rebate administration.
- Support administration of customer rebates and payments
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred
- Work experience in analytics, sales operations, or consumer package goods/supply chain environments preferred
- Strong analytical background with proven experience using data to drive business outcomes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including PivotTables), Word, and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with SQL and data query tools
- Ability to translate data into clear business recommendations and visualizations
- Experience working in Salesforce or similar CRM platforms preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to present findings and insights to internal teams and business partners.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Occasional overnight travel required.
- Regularly required to talk, hear, sit, stand, and use hands to handle materials or equipment.
- Occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel, or lift/move items up to 50 pounds.
- Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- Work is typically performed in an office setting with occasional exposure to warehouse and outdoor conditions.
- Noise level is generally moderate.
